The Service Delivery team is responsible for minor works, operational maintenance and facilities maintenance for selected Sydney Water assets.
The Service Delivery team is divided into three sub-divisions: Facilities Maintenance (FM), Major Periodical Maintenance (MPM) and Operational Maintenance (OM).
Facilities Maintenance
Facilities Maintenance (FM) covers operational management of facilities and buildings.
Examples of routine service delivery categories for facilities maintenance include:
- Fire services
- Grounds Maintenance
- Cleaning Services
- Building Maintenance Services
Major Periodic Maintenance
Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) includes work regularly carried out to ensure the asset is maintained to achieve its full service life. MPM involves refurbishing or overhauling an asset to restore original functionality and service life.
Distinguishing features of MPM are:
- MPM is not a renewal and does not extend the asset service life
- MPM is planned maintenance, but it is not included in the annual maintenance work plan
- Assets typically get identified for one or more overhauls every five years
Operational Maintenance
Operational Maintenance (OM) is responsible for maintenance across selected water, wastewater and networks assets. Services provided include:
Breakdown Maintenance (BM):
Initiated following an asset failure with the objective to restoring the asset to perform its intended function.
Corrective Maintenance (CM):
Carried out on an asset to correct unacceptable performance.
Preventative Maintenance (PM):
Carried out to reduce the probability of failure.
